Our DSC1 Training is designed to familiarise yourself with two aspects of the DSC1 Course:
- The Shooting Assessment
- The Safety Assessment
Both of our familiarisation modules will give you a hands on experience of what you will ezperience on the day of your assessments
Training Options
The Shooting Assessment
The DSC1 Shooting Assessment requires the placement of a series of 6 shots at a simulated deer target in three phases:
- 2 confirmed shots from 100m prone at the chest
- 2 confirmed shotsfrom 70m standing, sitting or kneeling at the chest
- 2 at between 10m and 20m standing at the head to simulate humane dispatch
Any normal stalking aids such as sticks and bipods may be used.
Our familiarisation training will provide you with the exact conditions you will face when taking your DSC1 Shooting Assessment – but in a relaxed, no pressure environment. Jon will be on hand to help you build confidence – and then take you through the assessment process.
Safety Assessment
Oral questions based around scenarios in a simulated stalking environment. There are ten questions selected from the current DMQ question bank. Most of the questions will be relevant to the local area. All questions must be answered correctly according to the criteria laid down in each question.
